Candace Springs, Blue Note's future diva, releases a masterpiece cover album of female vocalists that she says "made me what I am today"! A new masterpiece of jazz vocal music is born. As the album title suggests, this is a jazz vocal album featuring covers of classic songs by female artists who have supported Candice as an artist and as a person, and who have inspired her in various ways. The album features her own arrangements of songs sung by Norah Jones, Lauryn Hill, Sherday, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and other artists who have built the history of female vocals, regardless of time period. She skillfully uses her voice to express gentle suppleness, sadness, and strength, depending on the song, and her warm voice is still there. Various artists who support the current jazz scene were also featured on the album.Bassist Christian McBride adds color to the Diana Krall-inspired "Devil May Care" and Norah Jones provides vocals on the Ella Fitzgerald-inspired "Angel Eyes." Other featured tracks include David Sanborn (as), the above-mentioned Avishai Cohen (tp), Chris Potter (ts), and Elaina Pinderhughes (fl). The members of this album are a magnificent group of musicians who are leading the current jazz vocal world. Candace says that this is the album she has been wanting to make for a long time, and her attention to detail is evident throughout the album. The recording team includes guitarist Steve Cardenas (Norah Jones), bassist Scott Corey (Carmen McRae), and drummer Clarence Penn ( Diana Krall), who also participated in the project. The producer is Larry Klein, a Grammy-winning producer who has worked with Joni Mitchell and others.He has teamed up again with the master producer of his debut album and hit "Soul Eyes" (2016).
