Hartman's 6th!\n\n\n\nJ.P.E. Hartmann was one of the greatest Danish composers who, together with Nils W. Göse, colored the music of the \"Golden Age of Danish Culture\" in the early 18th century. He composed mainly operas and Zingspiels, ballets, incidental music, melodramas, symphonies, and concert overtures, and although he said, \"I am not a pianist,\" he left valuable works for the piano. and publication of his entire oeuvre, shedding light on his unpublished works. The series by Tomas Tronjem began with that, and this sixth collection completes the recording of the complete works.\n\n\n\nThe most important work on this album, the \"Piano Sonata in A minor,\" was composed less than two months after the \"Prissonaten\" (Prize Sonata) in D minor, and underwent many twists and turns before it was published in 1885, the 80th anniversary of his birth. The work is characterized by the most beautiful pages of Danish romanticism, including the third movement of \"Allegretto Pastorale.The \"Six Pieces in Song Form\" was written at the request of a German publisher. The program also includes pieces of a personal nature, such as \"Theme and 14 Variations\" and \"Piano Pieces\" for his eight-year-old grandson, Johann Peter, and \"Improvised Waltz\" for his daughters, Clara Winding and Emma Wesel.
