Description:
Portuguese jazz pianist Mario Laginha, a Portuguese treasure, releases his third album on EDITION RECORDS. This is his third album on EDITION RECORDS. A year and three months since his last album "Atlantico," a fusion of jazz, classical, and fado, this new album combines elements of both European and African music, but with a floating sensibility and Chopin-like elegance. Mario Laginha is an accomplished pianist as well as a composer of beautiful and lyrical music, and the trio has been working together for over 15 years, performing extensively throughout Portugal. For more than 15 years they have worked together as a trio, performing extensively throughout Portugal, and have established themselves as one of the country's best-known jazz musicians. They have had the opportunity to perform with many notable artists such as Pedro Burmester, Bernardo Sassetti, and star vocalists Maria João and Julián Argüez, and have a growing presence not only in Portugal but also in Europe. Now, as if the time is ripe, they have released their third album on the up-and-coming British label EDITION RECORDS. The band is now ready to take on the world with full force. Jangada" means "raft" in Portuguese, and is derived from the word "jangada," which means to pick up pieces of driftwood and bind them together to form a whole. Brazilian, Indian, African, pop, rock, classical, and jazz. The various musical essences that make up Mario are organically connected, and eventually stand as a single piece of music. The 17-minute long M-(5) is the highlight. The 17-minute long M-(5) is the highlight of the album. The piano solo is flowing, and then quickly dissipates and explodes in an unsettling climax. The second half of the song gradually returns to the melody of the beginning, while interweaving dissonance and ripples like an apocalypse and turning tranquil. The breathless succession of developments is like watching the life of life, society, and the universe, and it is a mysterious piece filled with tension, elation, and melancholy. A new piano jazz masterpiece has been born, dedicated to all lovers of beautiful melodies and phrasing. Don't miss out on this raft.
