He was a student of Eduard Marxsen, who was also Brahms’s teacher, and remained close friends throughout his life with Reinberger, another of Marxsen’s students. He married the daughter of a publisher, served as music director at the Hamburg Theater, and, as an outstanding music teacher, trained many students. Although many of his works were performed and highly acclaimed during his lifetime, they have, unfortunately, been completely forgotten over the years. While the texture of his music certainly resembles that of Brahms, these chamber works possess a profound expressiveness colored by a rich, resonant sound. Furthermore, his “Theme and Variations” is a magnificent piece that demonstrates Thierio was unquestionably a master cellist.\nNaxos Japan\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Toccata","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53595681456417,"sku":"5060113440808","price":19.95,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/5060113440808.jpg?v=1790482268","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-de\/products\/5060113440808","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
