Once again, the orchestra uses valveless natural trumpets and horns, which, together with the genuine-leather-covered timpani, produce a sound that is both unadorned and dynamic. Furthermore, the string section keeps vibrato to a minimum, creating a sharp and precise texture. The tempos are set relatively fast; Symphony No. 7 is vibrant and brimming with energy, while Symphony No. 3 avoids becoming overly emotional in the Funeral March and highlights each rhythmic element in the finale with clockwork precision, resulting in a performance full of vitality.
