He became a citizen of Palestine with the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, and left behind many accomplishments. His style, which blends late Romanticism with Middle Eastern elements, has much in common with that of Ernest Bloch, and he was awarded the Israel Prize in 1957. Cello works occupy a particularly important place in Ben-Haim's creative output, and one of his best-known works, the \"Cello Concerto,\" is especially appreciated for its folk-like melodies and exquisite orchestration.\n\nSince his Carnegie Hall debut, Ofer Canetti has been active internationally as a soloist, chamber musician, and arranger.
