The \"Luzon de Ténébre\" service is held after midnight on Good Thursday, Good Friday, and Good Saturday. The first three texts of the Lamentations of Jeremiah are read each day, but de Lalande left only the music for the third Luson for three days. These are somewhat different from Couperin's masterpiece of the same period, a little more folksy and intimate, and written for solo soprano voice.
