After releasing a single and an EP, they signed with the prestigious Matador Records, which also includes Yo La Tengo, a band they themselves profess to be fans of. For their debut album, \"Versions of Modern Performance,\" the band invited John Agnello, who has worked with Dinosaur Jr. and Sonic Youth, as co-producer, and recorded the album at Steve Albini's Electrical Audio. The recording was done at Electrical Audio owned by Steve Albini.
