Held since the early 19th century in a reconstructed Roman theater (with its original walls and later rebuilt with 9,000 seats), the Festival has been held annually since 1902 and features numerous concerts, mainly operas. This video shows the highlight concert of 2015, with a program centered on two works (Saint-Saëns and Berlioz) dedicated to Franz Liszt. Of particular interest to the audience, however, will be the Poulenc concerto performed by Argerich and Angelisch. The two virtuosos will perform this unique work, which features numerous quotations from Poulenc's own works. The encores are also noteworthy.
