The presentation of the first movement is, as is customary, repetitive. The second theme, known as \"Alma's theme,\" is sung with a deep and persistent feeling that draws the listener in. The artificial slowing down of the tempo just before the famous hammering down of the fourth movement, which could be described as either anticipatory or anxious, is very mocking, but on the contrary, it is interesting and addictive. The contrast between the silence just before the final shot and the startling surprise is also a must-listen.
