Thunder and Roses (named after a story in the \"Amazing Science Fiction Anthology\") was formed when 18-year-old guitar prodigy Chris Bond and bassist Tom Schaffer met heavy drummer George Emme (formerly of Electric Powerhouse). Rehearsing six days a week (yikes), the trio quickly melded and eventually began playing shows at venues such as Electric Factory and Trauma. Joe Tarsia recorded this album at Sigma Sound and it was released in 1969 on United Artists.The album, featuring Bond's masterful fuzz-wah guitar playing, includes seven original songs as well as a blistering cover of Hendrix's \"Red House\". Sadly, the record company refused to cut the killer \"White Lace and Strange\" on 7\" to promote the album, opting instead for the subtle \"Country Life\". After the breakup, guitarist and main songwriter Chris Bond became a successful producer, songwriter, arranger, and session musician, working closely with top artists such as Daryl Hall \u0026amp; John Oates.
