Description:

I never knew Antheil's piano music could be so interesting! George Antheil (1900-1959) was an American futurist composer who created a stir in the history of piano music. Despite his fame, he is a composer whose sound is not so well imagined, so an album of his piano music like this is very welcome. He was born in the same year as Copland, two years younger than Gershwin and three years younger than Henry Cowell, but both composers' styles are different, and surprisingly, their works remind us of modern Russian piano music. Both are different in style, and surprisingly reminiscent of modern Russian piano music. Antheil was a man of many talents and interests, not only as a musician, but also as a friend of literary figures such as Ezra Pound, Joyce, and Yeats, as well as Picasso, and he was also a man of invention, and it is said that he is involved in the principles of today's wireless LAN and cellular phones.Such brilliance pervades his music. The Jazz Sonata is only one minute and 49 seconds long, with the instruction to "play it like an automatic piano. In the "Airplane Sonata," he uses the most pointed civilized instruments, and in the "Savage Sonata," he sublimates primitivism into a masterful work of art. The percussive use of the piano and agile finger movements are painful and recommended for stress relief. The performer, Guy Livingston, is an American eccentric pianist living in Paris. He is also known as an antiquity researcher and couldn't be more convincing. King International
