Formed in 1967 after Greene left John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, the band included rhythm section members Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. Greene, anticipating his own departure at some point, wanted the band to have a lasting identity after his involvement, so he named the band \"Fleetwood Mac\" after them. With the addition of two talented guitarists, Jeremy Spencer and Danny Kirwan, the band quickly gained attention for their sophisticated blues playing. They went on to produce some highly successful rock classics and instrumentals, but Greene left the band in May 1970.\n\n\n\nThis debut album consists of blues standards and original compositions by Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer. Produced by Mike Vernon and released on his Blue Horizon label in early 1968, it is an undeniable highlight of the British blues boom and an important work in the development of 60s rock. It features covers by Robert Johnson, Elmore James, and others, including \"I Loved Another Woman,\" which later became the prototype for Santana's \"Black Magic Woman.
