The soundtrack to the 1976 banned Iranian queer gothic horror classic "Chess of the Wind" has been restored and premiered by Mohammad Reza Asrani. Restored by Martin Scorsese's Film Foundation and released in 2020, the film has been acclaimed as one of the most visionary and daring films in pre-revolutionary Iranian cinema. The soundtrack is by one of Iran's most respected female composers, Sida Gharachchagi, and combines Persian classical instruments with atonal dissonances drawn from her Western conservatory background. 8 pages of full size liner notes with film stills/track Includes translations and more.
