Verdi followed this tradition and composed ballet music for seven operas between 1847 and 1894. Outside of France, ballets were often omitted as \"additions\" to the storyline, but they are unmistakably Verdi's works, and their high quality has led to their inclusion in more and more performances outside of France in recent years. The ballet will be conducted by Lepsic, who has served as general music director of the Hanover Opera and will become general music director of the Leipzig Opera in the 2025\/26 season.
