Among them was the young prodigy Giovanni Benedetto Platti.\n\n\n\nInspired by the Count's letter to his brother the next day stating \"they stayed until five in the morning,\" this album recreates the intimate, passionate \"among friends (Unter Freunden)\" sessions of that era for our time. At its heart are Platti's chamber music—for which he composed numerous works for Count Schönborn—alongside beloved masterpieces by Handel and Telemann from the same period. Featuring various ensembles including singers, it paints a picture of concerts brimming with the joy of improvisation. Leading the ensemble is Clara Blessing, a renowned oboist who has served as principal oboist with ensembles such as Concerto Köln and is currently a professor at the Würzburg University of Music.Violinist Mayumi Hirasaki, a world-renowned virtuoso who serves as concertmaster of Concerto Köln and the Berlin Academy of Baroque Music, professor at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, and will become professor at the Berlin University of the Arts in 2025, participates.
