Their next work was \"The Townsman Aristocrat\" by the 17th century playwright Molière. Hoffmanstahl first incorporated \"Ariadne of Naxos\" as an interlude to the story of \"The Aristocrat,\" and staged it in 1912, but it was a complete failure, perhaps because it was too long. Ariadne was then made into a stand-alone work and presented as a separate production. The \"Aristocrat\" was reorganized as a play, not an opera, with the incidental music written by Strauss retained and new music added, and was completed in 1917. Therefore, there are two Op. 60s in Strauss's works. In this album, \"Aristocrat\" is performed in the suite version, and \"Ariadne\" is performed in the \"Symphonic Suite,\" which was edited by Ochoa in 2010.Enjoy this masterpiece, reborn with a lavish seasoning while retaining the flavor of humor, under Falletta's baton.
