Alex Izenberg, an LA-based singer-songwriter who plays superb pop music reminiscent of Devendra Banhart and Vetiver, has released a new album on Domino! The latest release from Alex Izenberg, a singer-songwriter based in LA who makes superb pop music! His sound, still shrouded in mystery, has attracted a number of musicians, including Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear. Recorded at Tropico Studios and co-produced by Alex Izenberg and Greg Hartunian. Mastering was done by Dave Cooley in LA. The album also features Dave Longstreth of Dirty Projectors on strings and woodwind arrangements. The album cover depicts a mask, a reference to the exploration of identity that Alex Izenberg expresses on this album.Above all, what inspired me the most while writing this record was the idea of a joker, someone who could be any card." Izenberg explains. As the world around him crumbled and he lost his loyal companions, Izenberg sought escape and redemption in the depths of himself and his imagination, resulting in his third full-length album, I'm Not Here.
