Schumann, who had been composing solo piano music for many years, did not begin working in the chamber music genre until he was in his 30s. In particular, the Piano Trio was written in his mature period after moving to Dresden. The first piece, written in 1847 to celebrate the birthday of his wife Clara, is a work full of romanticism typical of Schumann, who was influenced by Mendelssohn's Piano Trio No. 1. The second piece, which was begun shortly thereafter and completed in October of the same year, is a bright and lively piece with a character that contrasts sharply with the first piece. It is said that Clara also loved playing this piece. No. 3 is a work from 1851. Clara, who gave a trial performance of the piece, described it as "passionate and inventive. The Fantasy Pieces, Op. 88 was composed in 1842, but Schumann himself was not satisfied with the final product and revised it many times. It is a collection full of Schumann's typical sentiments. The Italian ensemble "S Trio" made its debut in 2005 and has performed at music festivals and halls around the world, actively featuring works by female composers and collaborating with theater and jazz artists.
