With the score in hand, they immediately set to work on their performance, but they also encountered some difficulties. They easily solved the technical problems, but Shostakovich's score did not include the symbolic bell sound at the end of the fourth movement, which is an important factor in this work. They attempted to reproduce the bells themselves. The version added to track 5 is one of the results they came up with.
