This is the very orchestra that appears in the Tanglewood Music Festival scene in the film. The Orchestra Now was founded by graduate-level conductors, educators, and musicians in and around New York City, and is made up of vibrant young musicians from around the world. Together with Jewish-American conductor Leon Botstein, the orchestra is actively engaged in the promotion of unknown works.\n\n\n\nFollowing the previous release, \"The Lost Generation\" (AV2684), which featured works by Hugo Kauder, Hans Erich Apostel, and Adolf Busch, this second release on the Avie label features orchestral works by three Jewish composers from the first decade of the 20th century. Josef Tull, Walter Kaufmann, and Marcel Rubin all share the common trait of having escaped the Holocaust, but each subsequently followed very different paths to new lives and careers.
