The album, a lush and elegant post-punk affair, won praise from The FADER, NME, and The Guardian, and catapulted them from quiet Brattleboro to stages across the United States and the United Kingdom. However, founding bassist Nathaniel van Osdol has left the band.Meanwhile, longtime musical partners, new bassist Ally Juleen (she\/they) and guitarist\/keyboardist Shane Blank (he\/him), moved to a rural Vermont town a month before recording the sequel to their cult He uprooted his life to join the band. 'We were all coming together to create something new, to take a new step forward. We've all been making music for a while and have faced its harsher, less fun side,\" says Mars, and when Mars converted a barn in the woods into a recording studio the band calls a \"hobbit hole,\" they focused on one simple rule.
