He received his first musical education in his birthplace and eventually moved to Madrid. He studied at the Queen Sofia Higher School of Music with Dimitry Bashkirov. He won the 11th Santander International Piano Competition, and in 2005 he also won the Svyaslav Richter International Piano Competition. Here Neborshin performs two of Russia's most famous piano concertos. The melancholy and majestic passages of the Tchaikovsky, as well as the shimmering tone and weeping melody singing in the popular Rachmaninoff, are an exciting combination of youthful sensitivity and skill. The explosive and persistent tone of the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor Vladimir Lande, was appropriate for these two works, and the orchestra sounded full of charm, fully complementing the brilliant piano tone. The encore performance of the Beethoven was a fascinatingly vigorous expression that brought youthfulness and flamboyance to the forefront. The Beethoven is a lively and energetic work, with a driving force that seems to come at you.
