Bach, a distant relative of the same generation whom the Great Bach also recognized\n\nJohann Ludwig Bach, a distant relative of the same generation whose compositional abilities were recognized by the great Bach, was born in Thal near Eisenach in 1677, and after studying in Gotha, he joined the Meiningen Court Orchestra at the age of around 20. At the age of 34, he became the music director of the orchestra, which later premiered important works by Brahms and R. Strauss, and was also active as a court composer. Although not many of his works have survived, we are fortunate to have a copy of his 18 church cantatas (composed in 1718-19), which he copied in 1726, when he was getting tired of creating new works for each Sunday service in Leipzig. We can now know what a brilliant composer \"Bach in Meiningen\" was. Most of the compositions have strings with a pair of oboes supporting four vocal parts, but there are some exceptions, and although the approach is different from that of the great Bach, there are many interesting writing styles to be heard. Some of the pieces, such as JLB 21 on Disc 1, have long been mistakenly attributed to the great Bach. Johanna Soler, a brilliant conductor of the new German generation, gives a sympathetic performance of all the pieces.The Netherlands Bach Society, where Shunsuke Sato served as music director for five years after the retirement of Jos van Veldhoven, will welcome a new music director from April 2025, a keyboardist and conductor, through an ensemble of musicians who bear his name and whom he trusts, to revive the musical excitement that people in the 18th century must have felt The ensemble, which includes his namesake and trusted musicians, will bring back to life the musical excitement people must have felt in the 18th century.\n\nNaxos Japan\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Ricercar","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":52171571200289,"sku":"4589538828189","price":46.0,"currency_code":"CHF","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4589538828189.jpg?v=1766641972","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-ch\/products\/4589538828189","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
