Time Ain't Accidental is the boldly personal but inevitable evolution of Texas-born, Los Angeles-based singer\/songwriter\/multi-instrumentalist Jess Williamson, who, on her own, has taken country music completely modernized. On the album, Williamson's voice is front and center, the sound of a woman who, for the first time, confronts her life and her art head-on, unequivocally, and on her own terms.In 2022, Williamson and KatieCrutchfield (Waxahatchee) released I Walked With You A Ways under the Plains name to rave reviews, Cosmic Wink (2018), Sorceress (2020) After the release of Mexican Summer, Williamson already felt ready to shift in a new direction. In the midst of the pandemic, Williamson began tracking demos. For the drum machine, he used an iPhone app. He then brought the demo to Brad Cook (who also produced Plains) in Durham, NC.
