A glittering, transformative ensemble of young musicians\", Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective! Formed by pianist Tom Poster and violinist Elena Urioste, who met through the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists Scheme, this spirited ensemble has been enchanting audiences with its charismatic programming and outstanding musicianship, actively incorporating neglected repertoire. The ensemble is an up-and-coming ensemble. Having established a reputation for unfamiliar repertoire and interesting programming, their new series \"Brahms \u0026amp; Contemporaries\" creates another ambitious album that juxtaposes Brahms' piano quartets with works by lesser-known composers of the same period. For the first volume, the piano quartet of Louise Adolpha Le Beau, a female pianist \u0026amp; composer of the German late Romantic period, was chosen. She studied with Clara Schumann, Franz Lachner, and Josef Reinberger, and her works cover a wide variety of genres, including choral works, two operas, a vast number of songs, solo piano pieces, and chamber music. The piano quartet composed in 1884 and premiered at the Leipzig Gewandhaus in the same year was highly acclaimed by the critics of the time. The same year she met Brahms and Hanslick on a concert tour of Vienna, and they too showed her their works and responded positively. Brahms' Piano Quartet No. 2 was completed in 1861 and is known to have been strongly influenced by Schubert. At nearly 50 minutes long, it is one of the most substantial works in the repertoire for piano quartet.
