From 2003 to 2007, he studied with composer Vasco Mendonça at the \"Hot Club de Portugal\" jazz school in Lisbon.He has studied with musicians such as Pedro Moreira, João Moreira, Nelson Cascais, Afonso Pais, Bruno Santos, André Fernandes, Sérgio Azevedo, and Lars Arens. Workshops include various master classes and orchestral internships with Lee Konitz, Carlos Barreto, the Lisbon Music School Jazz Orchestra, Instituto Piaget's Big Band, John Taylor, Matt Pavolka, San Francisco Jazz Collective, Pete Rende, Dan Weiss, Ohad Talmor, Ben Monder, and David Binney.
