Filippo, Duke of Milan, has married Imperial Consort Beatrice to gain wealth and power, but he is actually infatuated with her maid, Agnese. However, Agnese is in love with someone else—Orombello—who, in turn, is in love with Beatrice, creating a masterful love quadrangle. Beatrice and Orombello fall victim to Agnese’s scheming, fueled by jealousy. Believing his wife to be unfaithful, Filippo signs the death warrant… It is a hopeless plot, but that is precisely why the story highlights Beatrice’s anguish and dignified beauty. A tragic opera by Bellini (1801–1935), first performed in 1833. It was his second-to-last opera; although the premiere was a failure, it gradually gained popularity after his death due to the beauty of its music. However, perhaps because the arias assigned to the heroine are so demanding, it could be said to be one of those works for which no definitive production has yet emerged. In this production, led by Theodosiu—currently one of the world’s finest sopranos—a cast of outstanding singers showcase their vocal talents and acting skills. The beautiful stage design is also a highlight.\nNaxos Japan\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Dynamic","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53595563622689,"sku":"8007144556754","price":73.0,"currency_code":"CAD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/8007144556754.jpg?v=1790481677","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-ca\/products\/8007144556754","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
