This year's program features works that were premiered by the RCO during the 2008-2009 season. It is interesting to note the juxtaposition of works by two up-and-coming Dutch composers, Aa and Nath, and two leading figures in Dutch music, Kötting and Keuris, making for an interesting mix of old and new. Gubaidulina, a female composer already enjoying international fame, makes her presence felt here as well. Mezzo-soprano Stotin is a talented young composer who has performed with Jacobs, Abbado, Jurowski, Haitink, and others.A singer who has dedicated a collection of songs to Aa, she also has an outstanding taste for contemporary works.
