He was a friend of Liszt and gave concerts with Joseph Joachim and other prominent European musicians of the mid-19th century. It is said that he premiered each of his cello sonatas at those concerts to great acclaim. Artistic music gave him confidence, and his playing, with the extroversion found in virtuoso musicians, is marked by a remarkable balance of sensitivity. The melodies, in particular, have an operatic lyricism that is unmistakably Piatti. In the slow movement, one can feel the emotion that Verdi put into the leading role in the opera, and the composition is extremely varied. Piatti was praised by Liszt as \"the Paganini of the cello. His own works are not so well known. Cellist Lamberto Curtoni, born in Piacenza, Italy in 1987, has done extensive research on the historical background and the composer's career for the first recording of this work, and has produced a substantial collection of performances.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Brilliant Classics","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45558228222241,"sku":"5028421962993","price":28.0,"currency_code":"CAD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/products\/5028421962993.jpg?v=1687534937","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-ca\/products\/5028421962993","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
