Ethel Bartlett (1896-1978) and Ray Robertson (1893-1956), who, after their marriage in 1921, moved to the U.S. in the 1930s, where they gave the American premieres of works by Poulenc and Stravinsky and developed and expanded the repertoire for two pianos.
