Esguerra's own works, from pieces that evoke the sound of an orchestra to arrangements of traditional Colombian dances, sound like improvisations, but are in fact meticulously written. The album closes with \"Three Encores\" by Juan Antonio Cuellar, who holds a number of important positions in Colombian music, including CEO of the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia. This is an arrangement commissioned by Esguerra from a suite for concert band written more than 30 years ago, and is an \"encore\" that looks back on the history of Colombian music.
