The toccata is not a stand-alone piece, but is combined with an allegro, adagio, and fugue, allowing the listener to enjoy a variety of melodic expressions in a single piece. Marcello di Rizza, who will perform the piece, is a specialist in Alessandro Scarlatti's works. This album, which includes five world premiere recordings, explores the characteristics of Scarlatti's works and introduces him as a great master of counterpoint.
