Kwanz won fame as a flute teacher for King Frederick the Great of Prussia, and was privileged to compose a vast number of flute concertos, most of which were performed at the court of King Frederick the Great. His book \"An Essay on Flute Technique\" published in 1752 had a great influence on later generations.
