Considering the character of a work like \"Salome\" that is performed in a single movement (with no intermission) and Böhm's style in his heyday, in which the music is so absorbed in the depiction of scenes that it becomes heated, the live recording has a great deal of merit. Especially after the \"Dance of the Seven Veils,\" as the dialogue between Salome and Herod reaches its climax, Böhm's tempo becomes more and more forward and the music becomes more and more exuberant, which is nothing short of intense. The orchestra is also excellent, weaving soft, unique tones into a difficult ensemble, as one would expect from the Vienna Philharmonic. The cast is made up of veteran singers of established repute, and the singing is of a high standard, with Rysanek's Salome leading the way with a true-to-life performance of heart-to-heart technique, Hopp's King Herod, Hoffman's Herodias with character, Wechter's powerful Yokanaan, and Clement's magnificent Naraboat, all of whom can be said to be of a superior standard. The singing is of a very high standard.\n\nSony Music\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"RCA Red Seal","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51476746895649,"sku":"4547366759297","price":24.0,"currency_code":"CAD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4547366759297.jpg?v=1759151156","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-ca\/products\/4547366759297","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
