[Evgeny Kyshyn has become more and more accomplished, and his position as a master of the 21st century is becoming more and more secure. This album is a live recital at the Verbier Festival in the summer of 2004, and was released at short notice to replace a studio recording of the same piece, which had been recorded separately at Kyshyn's insistence. The all-Chopin program, consisting of all the improvisations including the extremely popular and famous "Fantasy Impromptu," four polonaises including the "Polonaise de Hero," and Scherzo No. 3, is full of masterful performances that show the strong affinity that Keesin, who has actively taken up Chopin since his debut, has with this composer. The performance by Keesin on stage, which was eagerly anticipated by the audience, is an unprecedented interpretation of Chopin, with even a hint of improvisation backed up by perfect technique.
