The first SACD release of the three Mahler pieces from the Canyon Classics original recording, with a new manuscript by Hikoyuki Komibuchi and commentary on the original release. This is the first reissue since 2001. Newly mastered by Tomotoshi Ezaki for this reissue. Limited edition of 600 sets with serial numbers!\n\n\n\nTakashi Asahina has been conducting Mahler at every milestone and turning point in his long conducting career. During his lifetime, he performed \"Resurrection\" eight times, \"No. 3\" three times, and \"Ode to the Earth\" six times, indicating that he had an extraordinary sympathy for this composer. This set contains the recordings from 1995, the last of these concerts. The deep accumulation of music by the master, including \"Resurrection,\" filled with a strong sense of cohesion, \"No. 3,\" known as a masterpiece, and \"Song of the Earth,\" a piece to which he was very attached, all take on a grand scale, impressing like a great wave. This is the long-awaited revival after a quarter of a century, fully equipped with new manuscripts by Hikoyuki Komibuchi, original manuscripts by Yukio Moroishi and Toru Yuki, green label specifications, new mastering in 2025, and more.\n\n\n\nTower Planning has featured many SACD reissue projects of Asahina with various labels. In this reissue, three heavyweight Mahler pieces from the 1995 live performance will be reissued in the latest version.Asahina has been actively involved in Mahler, and several labels have released recordings of his music, but these three pieces were the earliest Mahler recordings by Asahina to be released on the Pony Canyon label, and were much talked about at the time of their release due to their sheer scale. After their initial release, they were reissued at a reduced price in 2001, but since then they have been absent from the market for a while, so this time they are being revived after a long absence. In the past, Asahina's Mahler performances were less often featured than Bruckner's. This time, however, Asahina's intention was to make the Mahler performance more popular. We hope that this latest reissue in high sound quality, which better reveals Asahina's intentions, will lead to a reappraisal of his music.\n\n(1\/2)\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Octavia Records × Tower Records","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51246299152673,"sku":"4526977320362","price":82.0,"currency_code":"CAD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4526977320362.jpg?v=1746251593","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-ca\/products\/4526977320362","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
