Vojta is a Czech horn prodigy following Radek Babolák, who won the first prize in the horn section of the 2010 ARD Munich International Music Competition, one of the most difficult competitions for young musicians, as well as the Audience Award, the Best New Performance Award, and the Special Award of the New Philharmonie Westfalen. Přemysl Vojta (1983-) has made a name for himself as a prodigious Czech hornist, following in the footsteps of Radek Babolák. Vojta, who also won the Beethoven Ring Prize at the 2011 Beethoven Festspiele Bonn, has been a remarkable performer, moving from the Staatskapelle Academy in Dresden to principal of the Staatskapelle Berlin and Konzerthausorchester Berlin. Since 2015, he has been the principal hornist of the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne, one of the world's leading hornists.In this program, Vojta plays three different horns for each period of the work, Courtois's natural horn, Fuchs's single horn, and Alexander's double horn, and he beautifully recreates the sound and technique of the horns used when each work was written. The three horns are used to recreate the sound and playing style of the horns of the time when each piece was written. The keyboardist playing with Vojta is Tobias Koch, a world-renowned period piano virtuoso. He plays the Graf and Erard period pianos, as well as the Steinway modern piano, with great skill and makes Vojta's horn sound stand out.
