This is the second album on this label (the previous one was TXA-18110) by the "Duo Meis U", a duo featuring a violin and a viola. The album couples the violin sonatas of Bartók and Janácek, who both created bold and inspiring works starting from the folk music of Hungary and Moravia, respectively, with the viola sonata by Reistner-Meyer, a composer born in the Czech Republic in 1945. Violinist and violist Burkhard Meiss is a founding member of the Jacques Thibaud Trio, a virtuoso who has been active internationally for over 25 years. Pianist Jiyoung Yoo has been named an honorary citizen of her hometown of Yeosu, Korea, for her musical achievements. King International
