The lavish decorations are inspired by Belle Epoque and Art Nouveau. The splendid lineup of singers is also noteworthy. Finnish soprano Camilla Nylund as the Marshaless, Günter Froisbeck as Baron Ox, Michel Rosier as Octavian, and Nadine Sierra as Sophie, both making their debuts in the role. Of the two, Camilla Neerlund's Marshaless is particularly impressive with her graceful appearance and excellent singing, giving her a commanding presence on stage.It is a performance that is second to none in a number of great performances. It takes place in the 18th century in the house of a field marshal in Vienna. While her husband is away, the Marshal's wife invites the beautiful nobleman Octavian to spend the night. Then, early in the morning, Baron Ochs unexpectedly comes to visit. The Baron, a cousin of the Marshaless, is known to be a lover, and even tries to seduce Octavian, who is disguised as a servant and dressed as a woman. Ox came to the Marshaless to ask her to introduce him to a \"Knight of Roses\" who would give her a \"silver rose\" so that he could marry Zophie, the daughter of a wealthy nobleman, Furninall. Ox's marriage was more about money than love.
