In 2013, Montreux Sounds was recognized by UNESCO, The Montreux Jazz Festival and BMG have teamed up to present \"THE MONTREUX YEARS,\" a series that will unravel the vast collection of music at the Montreux Sounds.To date, Etta James, Nina Simone, Muddy Waters, Marianne Faithfull, John McLaughlin, Chick Corea, Monty Alexander, and this year, Paco de Lucia and Michel Petrucciani have been released. The festival not only brings legendary performances by world-class artists back to life, but also includes a wealth of rare and previously unreleased recordings from the festival's rich 55-year history, as well as a booklet with newly written liner notes and previously unpublished photos.
