It was augmented in the 18th century by Julius Bünting of Lübeck, based on an instrument by Jacob Scherer, an organ builder from Hamburg. However, this organ had fallen into disrepair by the end of the 20th century. This was carefully restored between 2018 and 2022, restoring it to its former great sound. This is the first CD of the organ, and Peter van Dyk and Timo Neumann, who were involved in its restoration, as well as the current cantor of St. Nikolai Church, Afito Gast, present the wonderful sound of the nearly 600-year-old organ.
