His efforts have attracted much attention, as evidenced by the Opus Classics Award he received in Germany.\n\n\n\nThe first four pieces on the album are newly commissioned arrangements for this album.\n\n\n\nMendelssohn's \"Violin Concerto in E minor,\" the piece that inspired Riepe to take up the violin, is the first piece on the album to feature an arranged version of the first movement, and the entire original is included at the end.In the first, composer\/pianist Florian Christl (b. 1990) adds a new variation on the concerto's theme, creating a timeless dialogue between the past and the present. Riepe's interpretation of the original, which focuses on the work's original clarity and structural beauty, is a treat to the ear, while the second piece, \"Let Me Cry Reflection,\" and the third, \"Zadok Variation,\" were arranged by another German composer\/pianist, Tim Alhoff (b. 1980), and are based on the original, Handel's opera, \"Let Me Cry.
