He also gave a very successful recital at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris the same year, establishing himself as a pianist. In 1960, he made his recital debut in the U.S.A., where he also performed in the U.S.S.R. and U.K. He also studied with Wilhelm Kemp to further his exploration of Beethoven. Since then, he has given recitals and performed with prominent orchestras in the former Soviet Union, England, and many other countries around the world. in the 1960s, Heidsieck recorded numerous concertos, especially as a \"Mozart player\".Corteau continued to mentor him until his death in 1962, and this Corteau-directed approach to playing that prioritizes individuality lives on in him to this day.
