The fan-favorite 1977 live recording has been reissued on 2CD! Although this is a 2-CD set with 8 tracks removed because the band did not anticipate the large-volume CD release at the time of the collection's release, the set is excellent, with "Help on the Way"/"Slipknot!"/"Franklin's Tower" closing out disc 1, and Phil Lesh's bass work is excellent on "Sugaree" and "The Music Never Stopped". Phil Lesh's bass does a very nice job on "Sugaree" and "The Music Never Stopped. Disc 2 contains a sublime, seamless (and in this case, never-to-be-repeated) sequence of songs that only the Dead could pull off in concert. After the rarely performed "Sunrise," the show culminates in a medley of "Estimated Prophet," "Eyes of the World," "Wharf Rat," "Terrapin Station" (shortened version from two months before its official release), and "Morning Dew. Jerry Garcia's solo performance was a reminder that he has reached a new level in his life.
