Now, they have completed their first new album in approximately four years. Their seventh album, *THE UNSUNG ADVENTURES OF PUNCH BROTHERS*, is the first album by Punch Brothers to consist entirely of instrumental tracks, and it also marks the debut of fiddler Brittany Haas, who joined the band in 2023.\n\nRecorded at Guilford Sound Studios in Vermont from last fall through winter, *THE UNSUNG ADVENTURES OF PUNCH BROTHERS* is an album of wordless music. Featuring eight new original songs by the Punch Brothers and three traditional tunes arranged by them, the album’s title is not merely a play on words. In the absence of lyrics to guide the listener, it is a story, a series of impressions, and a range of emotions conveyed entirely through string instruments—via melody, harmony, rhythm, and a sense of literary musical structure. For a band known for pushing acoustic music into unexpected places, this transition to a fully instrumental album may be their most adventurous endeavor yet. *THE UNSUNG ADVENTURES OF PUNCH BROTHERS* was produced by the band themselves, with engineering by Joseph Loese, who won Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical) at the 68th Grammy Awards alongside Blake Mills.
