The Norwegian avant-pop~progressive band formed by Henrik Schmidt (g/acoustuc-g/vo), Jonas Lundekvam (key/p/organ), and others from ex-BEAUTIFUL DROWNING, released their '24 album. The band's influences include YES, THE BUGGLES/KORGS/TAME IMPALA/XTC, and others, and their music ranges from synth-pop with a bit of nostalgia, colored by dull analog synths, to danceable disco sounds with bass drum moans, to modern psych with mellow and muted vocals that create a chilled feeling. The album's content, which straddles the line of modern psychedelic music, certainly shows the influence of their predecessors, but also reveals their own unique perspective and progressive sensibilities. The band's melodies are catchy and a bit unexpected, and the arrangements are a beautiful blend of symphonic and fusion sounds, making it a good choice for indie/shoegaze fans.
