COLOSSUS PROJECT, Kimmo Porsti (ds) of MIST SEASON, and Steve Unruh (vo/g/vln), RESISTOR/soloist, are the editors of the Finnish progressive rock fanzine COLOSSUS and the members of COLOSSUS PROJECT. The three members are Kimmo Porsti (ds) of MIST SEASON, and Steve Unruh (vo/g/vln), who is active as a RESISTOR/soloist. The reason for the sudden number "4" is that 1 to 3 were compilations released from '04 to '09 by Musea Records as part of the aforementioned "COLOSSUS" project series, and this album, featuring the theme that became the mother of THE SAMURAI OF PROG, is in a sense a return to the origin of the project. In a sense, this work can be considered as an attempt to return to the project's origins.As is customary with the Seacrest Oy label, this time the album features a number of guest musicians, including Stefano Galifi of MUSEO ROSENBACH, Alessandro Di Benedetti of MAD CRAYON, Marcel Singor of the current KAYAK, and Rafael Pacha of LAST KNIGHT. Following the first three albums, this is a concept album inspired by Italian western movies, with music contributed by Alessandro Di Benedetti, Mimmo Ferri, and Marco Grieco.The themes handled in this album are not as fantastical as those of the previous two albums, "THE WHITE SNAKE AND OTHER GRIMM TALES," and there is a retro line that emphasizes organs and synths, as if it were a famous band from the past, as well as instruments such as violins and dulcimers. Some of the songs have an acoustic and tribal style, similar to that of the band THE GUILDMASTER, a derivative unit of this project. While the colorful and stable high-quality symphonic rock that has been consistent since their debut album has remained unchanged, the sensitivities that have been rare in their recent works have been incorporated into this album, giving it a new flavor.
