Veteran Dutch symphonic/melodic rock band FLAMBOROUGH HEAD, formed in 1990 and led by Edo Spanninga (key), released a new album in 2010 from Oskar, Poland. After reissuing their previous albums and releasing live/compilation albums, it has been 9 years since their last pure studio album, "Lost in Time" (2001). This is the first album by the new band, featuring Eddie Mulder (b), who has returned to the band as bassist, and Hans Spitzen (g), who joins the band for the first time in the studio, and the band has developed its own style, which can be described as "Flamborough Head's style", with a soft and symphonic rock sound. The symphonic rock sound is of course still alive and well in this album.The band's stance of not pandering to the 21st century sound of post-rock and metal is excellent, but it is not a mere copy of 70's melodic rock either. The scale of this album is already in the realm of the isolated, with its innocent sound and graceful melodies that seem to come from the land of Holland, and the modern equipment and technology. As the nine years that have passed show, there are no gaps in any part of the music, and while the music is thoroughly crafted, it flows naturally and naturally.
