Following in the footsteps of Antonio Nevis and Bruno Belli, this newcomer from FAR OUT! The debut album by the up-and-coming multi-instrumentalist Tunico is a modern-day version of Quarteto Novo. Antonio Cetin, aka Tunico, was born and raised in a family of artists, including a painter father. He began playing the guitar at an early age and learned to play the saxophone by the time he was 18. A completely self-taught musician, he led a band and acquired his skills by performing in live houses and on the streets throughout Rio. This is Tunico's long-awaited debut album. The recordings were made by a number of up-and-coming musicians active in Rio, including Sico Brown, grandson of Sico Buarruchi and son of Carlinhos Brown, and Antonio Nevis, whose debut album the year before last was a big hit. The music, which modernizes not only samba but also traditional rhythms such as maracatu and shanadu with a global jazz approach, is in the lineage of Quarteto Novo, Hermeto Pascual, Tamba Trio, and Don Un Homão.
